Duplicity, a performance piece by Alysha Hermann & RYT ensemble

'We are duplicity. We are the intent to deceive. Are we going to be ok?' A young girl is disappearing, accompanied by two strangely familiar guides she will be dragged through a series of flashbacks and dreams to finally encounter the tragedy at the heart of two deeply entwined families. Duplicity is a poetic exploration of the intricacy of family interaction and the need we all have to deceive and 'fake it' sometimes. Directed by Miriam Lyon & Choreographed by Portia Magann

Duplicity participants will work with local emerging artists Miriam Lyon, Alysha Herrmann  and a Choreographer Portia Mcgann and professional mentors during weekly workshops to create two new performance works inspired by the theme of ‘using deceit to entertain’.

Using both theatre and dance the group will learn devising skills; develop characters, movement, style, story and design.

The final works will be presented as part of PlayFest_09.
