HUNGRY FOR SOME CREATIVITY?

EAT @ RYT

EAT is a workshop program of short one-off intensive workshops which introduce participants to different areas of performing arts, exploring ideas and learning new skills.

In July RYT is offering the first two of an exciting series of EAT workshops run by professional artists for the whole community.

Adelaide based Designer Kathryn Sproul will be in the Riverland on July 20th to run a 3 hour workshop introducing participants to simple and effective set, costume, installation and venue design ideas.  Kathryn, a graduate of NIDA, works nationally as a theatre, dance and event designer.  She has worked with many arts companies including; the State Theatre Company of South Australia, The Adelaide Festival Centre, Windmill Performing Arts, Melbourne Theatre Company and Legs on the Wall.

On July 27th Artistic Director Julie Waddington will introduce participants to a range of techniques and processes for directors and actors to use when in rehearsal.

EAT workshops are open to young people aged 14-26 years and ‘grown ups’ (anyone over 26 years!) and are designed to be useful and interesting to all participants: young people, emerging artists, teachers, hobbyists…anyone who want to have a go.

In the near future RYT will be offering EAT workshops in Writing, Lights and Sound for the stage, Circus, Hip Hop, and Street Theatre.  All EAT workshops will be facilitated by professional artists working in Adelaide, interstate and/or the Riverland.

“RYT is excited to bring professional artists to the Riverland to share their knowledge and skills with young people, artists and the whole community.  EAT is set to be a rich program of arts experiences and I strongly urge anyone interested to make the most of these opportunities” Julie Waddington
