MORE TO EAT

EAT is a workshop program of short one-off intensive workshops which introduce participants to different areas of performing arts, exploring ideas and learning new skills.

September will see two more EAT RYT workshops run by professional artists for the whole community.

On Saturday September 6, local techie Lance Gum will lead EAT LIGHTING AND SOUND.  Open to all, the workshop will introduce participants to the technical side of theatre, rigging and focusing lights, operating lighting and sound systems during performances and using lights and sound creatively for theatre.

EAT MONOLOUGUES will be held in the evening of Sunday September 7, led by RYT artist-in-residence Netta Yashchin. The workshop will introduce participants to Netta’s approach to acting developed during her 20 year international career as an actor and director.  Participants will need to learn 10 lines of a monologue in preparation for the workshop.

EAT workshops are open to young people aged 14-26 years and ‘grown ups’ (anyone over 26 years!) and are designed to be useful and interesting to all participants: young people, emerging artists, teachers, hobbyists…anyone who want to have a go.

In the near future RYT will be offering EAT workshops in Street Theatre and Circus.  All EAT workshops will be facilitated by professional artists working in Adelaide, interstate and/or the Riverland.

“EAT is an accessible program of workshops for anyone interested to have a go and we are lucky to have such talented local and visiting artists wanting to share their skills with young people and the community.” Julie Waddington
