I have just spent a week in New York City – a big big city. The city is home for over 8 million people, in quite a small area. New York is full of very tall buildings, lots of taxis, busy roads, so many people, shops, restaurants, movie theatres, trains that travel underground, so much to see and do. New York is very multicultural city. There are people living there from all over the world that have arrived and built the city together over the past 100 years. As I explored the city I heard lots of languages and tried fantastic food from different cultures.
While I was there I went to the American Museum of Natural History where they have lots of dinosaur skeletons. I went on a night boat cruise around Manhattan which is the busiest part of New York and I went up the Empire State building which is 122 stories high. I went up to the viewing platform which is 86 stories high. To get that far up we had to take two separate elevators. I also walked lots – that is the best way to see a city. One of the places I walked was Times Square, which is so busy and bright from lots of giant TV screens up on the sides of buildings showing advertisements for theatre shows and movies and things to buy.
Here are some photos from my trip.
